When every second counts

The #1 Preventable Cause of Trauma Death? Blood Loss.

As seen in

"Through a series of iterations, the concept was turned into XStat, a dose of tiny sponge-like discs that are injected into an open wound with a syringe. The sponges, which have been treated with an anti-hemorrhagic substance, expand to 10 times their size in seconds, both plugging the wound and providing needed compression to stanch the bleeding." — CNN
"Following an incident like a shooting, natural disaster, or car accident, the time XStat trims to stop bleeding can then be spent assessing other vitals. 'In the hands of the appropriately trained medical professional, this device would be an intervention and can keep somebody alive long enough to get them to the ER,' " — CBS News
"The patient’s bleeding was initially stopped by a tourniquet, according to a report by the military. But there was residual bleeding during a nearly seven-hour operation by a U.S. military forward surgical team. 'Eventually, the FST team opted to use XSTAT and applied a single XSTAT device…resulting in nearly immediate hemostasis.' " — PBS NewsHour

FAQ

Who can buy XSTAT?

Licensed medical professionals or first responders with a relevant license. Use simple, online form to get approved quickly.

We also sell over the counter products ready for immediate shipment, like our Airwrap Compression Wrap or our TX line of ratcheting tourniquets.

How do XSTAT® sponges stop bleeding so quickly?

The small cellulose-based minisponges expand up to 10× their compressed size within seconds of contact with blood, filling the cavity and exerting hemostatic pressure to stop bleeding rapidly.

What happens when the minisponges need to be removed?

The entire pouch containing the expanded sponges is designed to be removed in one piece during surgery. Radiopaque markers within the pouch help confirm full retrieval using X-ray or fluoroscopy.
