Kenton W. Gregory, M.D.
Co-founder, Chairman & Chief Technology Officer
Kenton W. Gregory is a world-renowned medical innovator. He is a co-founder, shareholder and the chief scientific officer of RevMedx. In addition to his role with RevMedx, Dr. Gregory serves as the director of the OHSU Center for Regenerative Medicine, Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Gregory graduated from the University of Southern California in 1976 with an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1980. Dr. Gregory has been the principal investigator on five FDA-sponsored clinical trials. He holds 19 domestic patents, three international patents and has authored and co-authored 11 original papers, four book chapters, 36 manuscripts and conference papers and more than 85 abstracts.
Andrew D. Barofsky, J.D., M.B.A.
Co-founder, President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Barofsky is an expert in managing complicated medical research and development programs, as well as commercializing the resultant technologies. In addition to his role at RevMedx, Mr. Barofsky is an executive vice president and general counsel for the Oregon Biomedical Engineering Institute, Inc. (OBEI), where he is responsible for all aspects of technology commercialization, contracting, operations and financial management, as well as providing strategic input on research and development strategies. Prior to joining OBEI, Mr. Barofsky was a member of the intellectual property and business groups of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, P.C., a leading Pacific Northwest law firm. Earlier in his career, Mr. Barofsky practiced law at Boston-based Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP, a global legal services provider for emerging growth companies. Mr. Barofsky began his research career as a scientist at the Oregon Medical Laser Center, where he helped establish the center’s biomaterial program. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Oregon Bioscience Association, the Oregon Translational Research and Development Institute and the University of Portland Center for Entrepreneurship's Technology Entrepreneurship Certificate Program. Mr. Barofsky earned his Juris Doctor and M.B.A. from Boston College and a biochemistry degree from the University of Oregon. Mr. Barofsky is a registered patent attorney and a member of the Oregon State Bar and the Bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
MSG John Steinbaugh (retired)
VP & Director of Strategic Development
MSG Steinbaugh is a 25 year Army veteran with 20 years’ experience as a Special Forces medic and over 50 months of combat experience during his career. MSG Steinbaugh spent the last four years of his career as the USSOCOM Medical Combat Developer. His experience and vision has led to the development and funding of many Pre-hospital products for the medic’s aid bag. These include the CROC Junctional Tourniquet, The Abdominal Aortic Tourniquet (which was named Popular science invention of the year), the Athena Mini Medic wireless casualty monitor, The EXO hypothermia kit, The RMI lightweight altitude chamber, and numerous light weight litter systems.
Paul Longo, MS, MFA
VP & Director of Product Development
Mr. Longo is a creative product developer with sixteen years in the medical device industry in diverse roles, including design engineering, design consulting, and capital sales. Mr. Longo began his career at Stryker, where he designed, developed, and launched a range of products, including bioabsorbable implants, single-use surgical products, and autoclavable capital equipment. Prior to joining RevMedx, Mr. Longo was the lead and founder of Ziba Design’s Healthcare Practice, responsible for building and managing Ziba’s business in the field of healthcare innovation and strategic design. Mr. Longo is an inventor on several patents, and he holds a Bachelor’s in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan University, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona.
Scott Zellmer, MS
VP & Director of Operations
Scott Zellmer is the Director of Operations at RevMedx, Inc. Mr. Zellmer has more than 25 years experience in the high technology industry, with leadership roles that range from medical device technology development to implementation of medical quality systems to creating high-velocity manufacturing operations. His technical knowledge spans topics as diverse as implantable medical device manufacturing, surface acoustic wave (SAW) device design, manufacturing engineering (quality, processes, components and suppliers), and advanced statistical techniques.
Mr. Zellmer has been a leader at global companies (IBM and Biotronik ), medium sized companies (Beckman Industries and Sequent Computer Systems), and startups (a producer of industrial video framegrabbers and a researcher into integrated-optic devices). Prior to joining RevMedx, he founded Z-Consulting, LLC that helped small to medium sized businesses develop effective manufacturing and quality systems, high-performing teams, and data-driven improvement strategies. He has implemented component and process validation methodologies in an FDA regulated environment, established operations in a startup that is still succesful 15 years after being founded, improved inventory turns from 3 to 17 in less than two years for the manufacturer of high-end centrifuges, and implemented a quality data system that tracked and reported the quality of suppliers, components, test and field service in the enterprise server market. Mr. Zellmer has also been a guest speaker and consulting partner for StatSoft®, the creators of the Statistica®suite of analytic software.
Mr. Zellmer has a Master of Science degree from Santa Clara University (Santa Clara, CA) in Engineering Management, with a focus on statistical methods. His Bachelor of Science degree is from California Polytechnic State University (San Luis Obispo, CA) with a double major in Electronic Engineering and Mathematics.
Will Fox, M.B.A.
Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Will joins RevMedx as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing with over 20 years in sales and marketing experience in the medical device and surgical industry. Will began his career in sales and marketing as a Sales Consultant at Biomet Microfixation (formerly Walter Lorenz Surgical) where he held positions in both sales and marketing for craniofacial fixation products. He spent several years at Welch Allyn in the continuous monitoring division (formerly Protocol Systems) as Director of Marketing in product categories including wireless networks, systems, and vital signs monitoring. Will most recently worked at SAM Medical Products as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for this company specializing in pre-hospital and military trauma solutions.
A 7 year veteran of the US Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer, Will graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science and later earned his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island. He currently serves as a board member for the Oregon Biosciences Association.
